The use of trace heating in many projects for today’s industries is now common place, ranging from hotels to factories. Whether used for constant hot water or to protect exterior pipe-work in the winter, Trace heating is often a small but vital part of a larger project. More recently, Trace Heating is being used more and more in the domestic market.

Frost Protection Systems (Preventing freezing pipes)
Connected to a thermostat, self-regulating cable is run along pipe-work/vessels that are liable to freeze. The pipe work is then thermally insulated. If the temperature drops below the trigger point, the thermostat will switch on the heater cable and prevent freezing. The cable only heats up to the pre-set temperature and then shuts off locally along its length - stopping over heating and reducing energy usage.

Heat Maintenance Systems (Immediate hot water, more accurate temperatures, reduced risk of bacteria)
The application of heat maintenance cable ensures constant hot water immediately at the draw off point and eradicates the need for circulatory return pipe-work and pumps sets. It is similar to the frost protect systems, involving running a heater element along side the Hot Water Flow service.
